MICHAEL C. FELICE, JR.
 
EDUCATION: Bachelor of Arts - Baldwin-Wallace College. Special emphasis on Business Management
WORK HISTORY: Became a member of UIU Local 48, Cleveland, Ohio in 1968. 

Became a Steelworker in 1985.

Became a Shop Steward in 1973.

In 1981 elected Trustee of Local 48.

In June 1981 became Business Agent of Local 48.

In January 1984 elected Business Manager and President of Local 48. In positions of Business Manager and Trustee have been directly involved in collective bargaining.

Directed all contract negotiations for Local 48 which at that time consisted of twenty-eight separate shops.

Involved in every phase of contract from wages, Health and Welfare and Pension to the writing of the contract.

Handled all arbitrations and grievances for the Local Union.

In January 1985 became International Vice President of Upholsterers' International Union which position included the responsibility as Trustee of the UIU/Steelworkers Health and Welfare Fund.

In October 1985, with the merger of the Upholsterers' International Union into the United Steelworkers of America, the name of the position was changed to Industry Vice Chairman, USWA Upholstery Division.

Appointed Trustee of UIU Pension Trust in June 1991.

Became Chairman of UIU/Steelworkers Pension Trust on February 1, 1992.

BOARD AND COMMITTEE MEMBERSHIPS:

Member - Community Relations Board, City of Cleveland (Dealt with Race Relations)

Chaired Police Review Subcommittee For Police Relationships and Actions Dealing with the Citizens of Cleveland.

Chaired Police Sensitivity Training Program (Committee to establish a training program for rookie and experienced police officers to help them deal with the various races and ethnic cultures of the community.)

Director - Cleveland Convention and Visitor Bureau - Was the only Labor representative in the country asked to travel with a Convention Bureau to make presentations to sell a city.

Member - Marketing Committee of the Cleveland Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Member - Community Relations/Cultural Arts Committee of the Cleveland Federation of Labor.

Trustee - WINOC (Workers in Northeast Ohio Council) - Joint effort of both Labor and Management in Northeast Ohio to find a common ground. Elected Trustee in October 1989.

Representative on the Organizing Committee of the Cleveland Federation of Labor.

Appointed District Permanent Commissioner of the Upholstery Division of the United Steelworkers of America in 1989.

In December 1989 appointed to Wage Policy Committee of USWA.
